EP and NN rubber conveyor belts have different carcass structures, which affect their tensile performance and application characteristics. EP conveyor belts usually use polyester in the warp direction and nylon in the weft direction. This structure provides lower longitudinal elongation, better dimensional stability, and good performance under long-distance conveying conditions.
NN conveyor belts use nylon in both warp and weft directions. Compared with EP belts, NN belts generally have better flexibility, higher impact resistance, and stronger fatigue resistance, making them suitable for applications requiring frequent bending and impact loading. However, they usually have higher elongation during operation.
When comparing tensile strength, it is not correct to simply say that EP or NN belts are stronger. The actual performance depends on factors such as belt strength rating, number of plies, conveyor tension, take-up distance, pulley diameter, and working conditions. Choosing the right belt type should be based on the specific conveyor system requirements.
